A lot of temples were built in the Ayutthaya period over 600-700 years but they were burned down together with the fall of Ayutthaya Kingdom in 1767.
About 99% of the temples in Ayutthaya were destroyed but the beauty of Thai architecture still remains and waits for you to explore. Ayutthaya is also famous for its boat noodles and Thai cotton candy (Roti Saimai). Don’t miss them!

Itinerary
Start the tour by visiting Wat Yai Chai Mongkol temple where you can see the highest stupa in Ayutthaya island with a height of 62.10 meters.
Visit Wat Phanan Choeng Temple where you can see the biggest Golden Buddha image in Ayutthaya island.
Visit Wat Mahathat temple where the holy relics of The Lord Buddha were once enshrined inside the central Prang Tower. You will see the sand stone Buddha head is embedded in the root of the tree which is the highlight of Ayutthaya province.
Visit Wat Phra Sri Sanphet Temple, the royal chapel of the old palace where the ashes of royal members were earlier kept here and you will see the three great stupas, the landmark of the temple.
Visit Viharn Phra Mongkhon Bophit and try Thai cotton candy (Roti-Saimai) at Mongkol Bophit Market. You can shop for souvenirs at Mongkhon Bophit Market before going back to Bangkok.

Excellent and Relaxing!! I learned a lot too!! (7 months ago)Nok our tour guide was excellent- she was very knowledgeable with the Thai history and culture. .. She and our driver, Boon was prompt at picking us at our hotel .. They had cold bottle waters available for us to drink throughout our tour. Nok knew where to pose for pictures and she was gracious to take mostly all of our group pictures for us!! The tour was done at our pace, never rushed .. Highly recommended! (8 months ago)Nok is the greatest guide you’ll find! She speaks English fluently, arranges a very comfortable car including wifi and sets up great tours. We did the Ayutthaya tour with Nok and we did visit a lot of various ancient sites, temples, royal house and a market, it was the perfect mix. Thanks to her we learned and understand a lot about the history, the culture and daily life of Thailand. She is so nice and sweet and makes you feel welcome. You can ask her everything and she’ll provide you with an answer directly or she’ll do everything to search for an answer. Nok arranged also our lunch and took our food restrictions very serious.
